Matsya - A celebration in a Bengali household is never complete without fish. From celebrating the first rice ceremony of a newborn in the family to a wedding, fish holds an important place on the menu. During a wedding, fish is decorated and sent to the bride by the groom’s family. It is believed that fish brings good luck, happiness, and prosperity.

Here’s a Matsya in Alpona.
